A recent edition of US Weekly Magazineicon touts “Jennifer Love Hewitt exclusive, 18 pounds in ten weeks! Her exact diet and workout plan”.

You may remember last November some unflattering pictures were taken of Jennifer while on vacation with her fiancé Scottish actor Ross McCall in Hawaii.

These pictures show Jennifer appearing a little heavier than usual in a black bikini. It amazes me that anyone would even think she was fat in these pictures. It just goes to show you how much stress is put on celebrities to be at their ultimate skinniest.

The Daily Mail said she’d “piled on the pounds” while TMZ quipped “We know what you ate this summer, Love – everything!”

In her defense Hewitt was quoted as saying:
“To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini – put it on and stay strong.”
And
“I’ve sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women’s bodies are constantly scrutinized. To set the record straight, I’m not upset for me, but for all of the girls out there that are struggling with their body image.”

So many women and young girls already have a negative self-esteem about their body and their weight. To see such a beautiful star being ridiculed for her weight and labeled as fat - puts extra pressure on the average woman.

Jennifer Love Hewitt states that she wanted to lose weight for her health and to have more energy. Losing 18 pounds in 10 weeks is very reasonable. And losing 18 pounds will give anyone more energy. Even though, I think she was perfect the way she was before.

(It’s hard to believe anyone would call her fat!)

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Diet Plan:

She followed a sensible healthy diet plan. She consumed 1,200 to 1,500 calories per day. Her diet consisted of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein and good fats.

She used portion control and cut out bad carbs. Jennifer also opted to skip all carbs after 3:00 p.m. She cut out processed foods as much as possible.

Hewitt packs turkey sandwiches for lunch. She eats small meals/snacks through out the day such as a small salad, a slice of cheese or an apple. She also likes eating one half of an avocado with lime juice on. She says it’s the greatest snack, is filling and has good fat.

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Workout Plan:

In addition to working out with her personal trainer three times a week she works out on her own by swimming, roller skating or on a treadmill.

Instead of traditional weights she works out with KettleBalls, and does plenty of lunges, squats and other lower-body exercises.

Her trainer, Stevie Sant’Angelo says secrets to her success are having a great attitude and caring more about having energy than a number on her clothes,

“I am in a pretty good workout regimen that I like, so it inspired me to keep it up,” Hewitt said. “The energy level and the way I feel now is great.”

Rumors also have it that maybe she wanted to lose weight for her wedding. Who knows, bottom line is she didn’t use gimmicks or drugs. I admire Jennifer Love Hewitt for choosing to lose weight the proper way - with a healthy diet and exercise.

In addition to planning her impending wedding she begins training in September to run in the Los Angeles marathon. Hewitt states “I want to be Ross’ partner until I’m 80, so I need to live a long time. You go to the gym more and you take care of yourself more just for the people around that you love so that you can have a longer life.”
